Cakes are not supposed to be wrapped as a gift

My kids cannot wait to invite their new step mother in their lives. They were there from the first time we met and they have been very encouraging in our relationship. I remember this one time my four year old daughter and my two year old son baked a cake for her with the help of the baby sitter. When it was time for me to take them to the play ground they wrapped the cake in a gift wrapper and took it with them to the play ground. I had no idea what they were planning to do and if they would have included me I would have helped them. They had no idea that cake that had cream was not a good idea for gift wrapped gifts. They gave her the cake and it was all mangled up and she loved it nevertheless. She had no kids of her own but she took her brothers kids to the park once in a while and my kids really loved her. They never warmed up to any woman I was interested in after their mother but they were finally making an exception.
